Most consultants arrive with a solution and look for somewhere to apply it. We work the other way. The first thing we establish is what it actually costs you today, using your invoices rather than your impressions. Then we find the cause. Then we recommend the cheapest thing that fixes it, and tell you, in writing, what we rejected and why. Sometimes that is a change to a tariff structure and costs nothing. Sometimes it is a setting on a controller that was never commissioned properly. Occasionally it is a significant piece of equipment. We don’t know which until we look, and neither does anyone who quotes you before looking.

We earn nothing on what gets installed.
No commission, no margin, no rebate, no referral fee on equipment or installation, under either way we work. So when we tell you the fix is a four-thousand-dollar control change rather than a sixty-thousand-dollar replacement, there is nothing in it for us to say otherwise.
If there’s nothing worth chasing, we say so.
The diagnostic is a fixed fee and it stands alone. If we look and find nothing that pays back sensibly, we tell you that and the diagnosis is yours anyway. Nobody has taken us up on that yet. The guarantee is real regardless.
We recommend the cheapest thing that works.
Not the most complete thing. Most of what we find sits below the threshold that needs a capital request, which means you can act on it next month rather than next year. Where something bigger is genuinely warranted, we phase it so the early savings pay for the later stages.

Operational Diagnostics
Delivery isn't complete until your people can run it without us.
We map how the operation actually runs, isolate what’s driving the cost or the failures, and put a defensible annual figure on it. You get a written brief with the numbers and the reasoning behind them. Two to four weeks. It stands on its own, whether or not we work together afterwards.
Most operational documentation fails for the same reason: nobody can use it at 2am.
Every engagement ends with documentation built from photographs of your actual system, instructions short enough to read during an incident, your staff trained on them, and a defined response standard. The objective is independence, not dependency. If you need us to operate what we designed, we designed it badly.

Once the cause is clear, we design what fixes it: the maintenance regime, who owns which decision, how work gets scheduled and recorded, how a fault escalates, and the measurement that tells you it’s still working months later. Specified in enough detail that your own team and contractors can run it without us.

What does an engagement actually cost, and how long does it take?
It depends on scope, and we’d rather give you the real number than a headline one.
Every engagement starts with a fixed-fee Operational Diagnostic, scoped by site count and run over 2-4 weeks. Tell us how many sites you’re carrying and we’ll confirm the fee in writing when we reply, before any call. It stands on its own and puts a defensible dollar figure on what your operation is leaking. If the leak isn’t big enough to be worth chasing, we’ll tell you that instead, and the analysis is still yours.
Phase 2 is quoted only after the Diagnostic, priced against the verified saving: a focused design engagement typically runs 6-10 weeks; multi-site portfolio work runs 12-22 weeks. We tell you which fits on the initial call, not after a sales process.
Do you accommodate invoice-based billing?
Yes. Invoicing is set up on agreed intervals at the start of the engagement, with deliverables and budget tracked transparently throughout.
